INTERMEDIATE, STRING ORCHESTRA
Sometimes the names of fiddle tunes conjure up some interesting pictures. The Little Burnt Potato and The Crooked Stovepipe have always been favorites of mine, and they do suggest “trouble in the kitchen.” I wrote the Fuzzy Onion as a partner piece which has the flavor of the music of prairie immigrants from the Ukrainine. I wanted there to be some fun sounds of a kitchen party, and this is really fun to play.
